So what kind of websites are you working on? Can you code from scratch, etc.? I'm feeling like a cat being forced to learn how to swim in this web design class. It takes me three times as long -- maybe 10 times as long - as anyone else in the class to figure the stuff out.

Les Says: This last job was for a local business, but was "outsourced" to me from the designer. I do code from "scratch", but it goes much more quickly when the design is already in place. I'm a much faster "back-ender" than I am with the design work.

I know what you mean about things taking that long. Even once you do catch on, the implementation itself takes a long time. It's a matter of repetition, I think, to get the hang of things. I'd been working with this stuff for years before I went to school for the certification - it can be frustrating at times. Hang in there; honest, it will click for you, bits at a time.

I like the idea of you in some primary and very-shiny-groovy-cool Super Hero garb, with a giant 'Anvil' logo and your own cape-of-gold, "For the good of mankind!"

I, like a true Super Hero Hammer, will wear my pants outside my trousers, invest in a vest 'of many gadgets' and shout "DESTINY!" Whenever 'Hoods' or people who talk in megabytes appear...

Bed time now....tired...

"DESTINY."

(O' the irony. 'Destiny' by James has just come up on my iTunes :-)...

Les Says: ROTFL! G'night. Hammer many. I'm sure there's a quota to meet.

Yes!

ANVIL and HAMMER, a new reality cop show. See Anvil and Hammer 'take down' anyone talking about house prices, littering skateboarders, or serious discussions of routes they travelled to get here today.

"BLAMP BANG!!

"CLANG"

There goes the neighbourhood...

Les Says: Can't we be more like "Super Heroes"? Then I could wear a groovy-cool Super Hero costume (pad the chest area, would you?).

I think the Italian for Fracas would suit...

Les 'Duchess of Fracasso.'

I'm off to my second job where I'm known as JImKin 'HAMMER OF THE GODS!'

TaTaa!

JimKim

Les Says: Ooh! Ooh! Can I partner with you? I could be Les: 'ANVIL OF THE GODS' - You can hammer the crap out of specific people, and I'll just wander around dropping heavy things on the heads of people randomly. Then we'll go to the pub.

Congratulations,

I always make up my own job title, currently my role is 'Lord of the Dance.'

JImKin

Les Says: I won't be allowed to blog about this "position", so I figured I should retitle it. I'm considering "Duchess of Fracas", but that does remain to be seen. I'm probably pretty close to the truth with that one, though.

Hot diggity! Congratulations, Les! When do you start? The photo looks peaceful, calm, happy, and even a little hopeful. Perfect!

Les Says: The original start date was for Monday the 8th... which got changed to Tuesday the 9th when everybody remembered the Canuckian Thanksgiving falls on the 8th... which got changed to 30 seconds after the contract is officially approved... which could be anytime after the day after the Canuckian Thanksgiving Hangover fades...

Well, it is still too early take you off the ol' prayer list, but it is good news.

Wonderful detail and color in the photo too!

And yes, I've played doctor many times before.

Les Says: I'm hoping to just stay on the ol' prayer list regardless, if at all possible, Mushy... :-)

I'm glad you like the photo. It's one I'm particularly proud of, from the old "half-click the button" days... How exactly does one "half-click" a button?! Which means I got lucky when this shot turned out.

And thank God for all my Internet Doctors! Y'all get to shrink my head for fun and amusement!
