A Pockage from the Ult Contry...

It’s a little bit comedy. It’s a little bit horror. Ruby leans toward the comedy in a really big way, for some reason. Me, I think I’m still wearing a creepy-feeling expression on my face. I don’t know if it’s the story that bothers me so muc...

Oh, that is delicious! And so credible, too.. You have the art of making us love the characters you write about Les, they are so real, and human. I envy you your talent, bonny lass. (x)

Les Says: My favourite characters are always based (usually loosely, because they tend to take off on their own if I write long enough)on real people. Mrs. Smith, with her whacked-out accent is based on my memory of an elderly next door neighbour I fondly called "Mrs. Unpronounceable". I don't remember where she came from originally, but she said things like, "Mebbe I gotta need more," a lot.

OMG...that is terrible! However, the writing is superb and the dialog is right on! Wonderful story and just right for the season.

Thanks so much...I was needing a good story.

Les Says: Thanks, Mushy! I worried a little that readers would get frustrated trying to read the phonetic tap-dance, there. I'm pleased you liked it.

I think that is hysterical and believe me I would cackle if it wouldn't scare the dogs....

Les Says: You know, oddly, it was you that came to mind when I was playing with that accent, for some reason. You don't have an "Ult Contry" of your own, by chance...? I'm really glad you got a kick out of the story.

Oh, dear god! Grandmother soup is supposed to be soup that grandmother made! What a great story, Les, and you told it so well. Perfect for Halloween, too.

Les Says: I can still hear Ruby cackling...
