I hate blogsvertise, they’re really mean. They put my wee blog on probation and said I had to take $2 assignments until they decided if it was going to be approved or not. They approved my writing blog but they keep offering me things like vacuum companies and hokey language courses. I wouldn’t mind if the website for the english language course was written in good english but it soooo isn’t. Anyways, sponsored reviews and smorty pay the quickest. Payperpost has the most opportunities. It’s really hard to find relevant opportunities for book/writing blogs.

Les Says: Ouch! Hopefully, they won’t stick me like that. I’m not going to sign up for any other “opp” places, simply because, as Mushy reminds me, my readers would much rather read about Ruby, anyway…

Google’s ads? do they work and have you thought about this? Online advertising is supposed to grow in leaps and bounds. Regular adv. doesn’t work anymore. It will be interesting to see how you do on this. Let me know. I’m interested - not for me right now, but the media subject and the trend.

Les Says: Google ads and my blog didn’t really get along… it kept picking up ad fodder from its own cache of my “no longer existing” posts and that really
bugged me. When it did look at recent posts, it was trying to sell vacuum cleaners and pet odour products. I’m considering revamping my single page
php to include adsense code above the comment box, maybe - then it wouldn’t bother me all. the. time.

I’ll let you know how the blogsvertise thing goes.

I just signed up and was approved for Blogsvertise — I even posted an actual photo of myself and I have received zero assignments. Hmmm. Maybe my photo is to blame.
