This photo was taken last fall, and it took me forever to find the original. I have too many computers and too many disks and I finally found it in my now defunct Zooomr account. Since it was snapped during a free-for-all with an unfamiliar camera, I’m not taking any blame for less-than-perfect clarity. I was able to remove the two strangers milling around in the shot. The result is hardly more than crude, but gone they are, so I still feel proud enough to post the photo.

And I’m not really here, either. I wrote this yesterday and set the post on auto-pilot, just to say Happy Holidays to the blogosphere. It’s Canuckian Thanksgiving Monday. As you read this, I am on a farm somewhere, killing livestock, drinking too much beer, and setting fire to a barn full of goats and llamas. Family traditions, yada yada…

This year, I’m thankful for Photoshop. And beer. Still. ๐Ÿ˜€

This poor guy, on the other hand…

Setting fire to a barn full of goats and llamas.

Careful, you might get arrested. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Les Says: Nah. It was my brother’s barn (emphasis on the ‘was’). He wouldn’t give it to me that easy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ooooh – is that your poochie?? Happy Thanksgiving, hon. Hey, I’ve just started playing around with CS3, it’s fab, isn’t it? Hurry back..

Les Says: No, that monster belongs to My Brother the Trespasser. His name is Bert. He likes to pick on their little old toy poodle (that one has a bad heart) by sneaking up and barking really loud. The poodle begins to wheeze and Bert jaunts away laughing. Bert’s ears are almost always “inside out”, because he wags his head more than he wags his tail. Oddly, so does my brother.

That’s a cool pic Les.

Posting on autopilot, also cool. I often thought that would be a really nice feature but didn’t know it existed.

Les Says: I don’t know if it exists in other blog engines – I use WordPress. I can change the date/time before hitting the publish button. Comes in handy at times.

I love the stuff you write: “killing livestock, drinking too much beer, and setting fire to a barn full of goats and llamas. Family traditions..” That is straight out of a great brain!

The photo shows action…just what it should do!

Les Says: My brother didn’t think “setting fire to the barn” was such a brilliant idea – he took my matches away. ๐Ÿ™

It IS a good “action” shot, despite the blur of her face, isn’t it? I’ve wanted to post it since I first took it, but had to get rid of the other people in it first – they, of course, stood out clear as a bell and totally ruined the feel of it.

Hilarious. You guys had Pilgrims? Well damn. Lucy, you got some esplainin’ to do!

Les Says: Ummmm…. kind of. It was the Loyalists that split to Canada after the War of Independence that brought Thanksgiving with them, I believe. At least they didn’t have to endure months of sea-sickness on their pilgrimage… that would have spoiled dinner.
