I love fast projects! This granny square pattern is inspired by the Nine-Patch quilt block pattern. It uses up all your leftover bits and bobs and can be used in so many ways; pillows, afghans, lap-quilts… I’ll set the pattern pdf up in the free pattern download area eventually, but it’s certainly a very easy “learn by the photo” pattern for anyone very familiar with granny squares.
Aren’t these pretty?
This is a great way to use up all those odds and ends of yarn…
It takes no time at all to make up enough of these “Nine-Patch” squares to put together a nice sized afghan.
So I’m making a pile of these things…
I’m starting a new afghan. This one pattern is called the Marigold Star Throw and it’s going to be lovely once finished – which of course brings me to the problem of having already run out of the dark navy yarn that makes up the majority of the blocks. I’ve also hit up against my December Money Challenge, which is to NOT spend any “unnecessary” money, so I shall have to put this project on a back burner (along with about 47 other projects) or (GASP…*) redefine the term “unnecessary” as it relates to getting this project finished, and up for sale on The Les Becker Design Site.
Hmmmm…. I may have to go with (GASP…*) on this one.
